Did the MPAA give the movie "3 Generations" an R-rating because it focuses on transgender issues? There's now a petition urging the MPAA to change the rating of the film to PG-13. Sign and share if you'd like to see a ratings change.
Grow the hell up. EVERY movie that says fuck more than twice gets an R rating, with VERY little exception if any. An organization that has been rating movies for 20+ years is not going to change their grade scale because this movie focuses on important issues. Who even picks the fights the group participates in?
It couldn't be language, or nudity or any of the usual things. You just assume it's persecution because it focuses on trans issues?
Movie ratings are actually fairly subjective. There might be a few guidelines that they stick too but the MPAA tends to be much more accepting of allowing teenagers access to stories that contain a lot of violence than they are of allowing teenagers to see things they might actually see (or take part in) in every day life, such as sexual content, cursing, or a trans identity. I agree that they should change the rating based on the value this film could bring to the lives of many trans teens without forcing the production company to remove the cursing.
Oh look, the media being one of the largest snowflakes out there. Pretty sure if there's a trans child, like actually trans and not just cross-dressing, they have supportive parents who can get them in with adult supervision. Fucking idiots.
If trans youth could watch deadpool, they'll have no issue watching this.
Here’s the truth. The truth is that homosexuality, lbgtq, and gay marriage are wrong. It has nothing to do with discrimination. God is the authority. Such has been previously acknowledged, by law, that we are a nation which “Trusts In God”. And, God is love, just, righteous, and forgiving. Meaning…a just and pure God cannot and will not let “wrong (homosexuality)” go on forever, especially when a nation condones wrong. People are either for God, or against God. Ultimately, they either choose to believe in God, follow His Word, the Bible, and do right in His eyes; or they choose to not believe. Problem is, the evidence of God is so irrefutable that we are without excuse, when it comes to believing. We must not be deceived in believing homosexuality is right, when God teaches otherwise. Importantly, God doesn’t want any to not accept what is right, but unfortunately many will refuse to accept Him. As a nation, we need to have the courage to stand up for what is really “right”, as previous generations have done, and not be deceived. Know that people make their own choices, but also know that God is not mocked. Please read it for yourself, and follow what is truly right and just…
That quite simply, does not happen. And it's insulting to the film and television community to imply that it does. These standards aplly to ALL films. No exceptions are made. Said fuck twice? R. Genitalia present? R. These guidelines have existed for a long time and the film critics and content creators and various other professionals who have helped hone these guidelines for DECADES will not bend to any film no matter how righteous the cause.
You're picking fights where none exist and smearing the reputations of the dedicated individuals that gave film guides the weight they have today. This is shameful behaviour.
I don't understand how superhero movies get pg-13 ratings when people are being killed in them but this gets rated r because of language.
